Meet our instructor:
My education is in psychology, clinical rehabilitation and neuroscience, with an emphasis in psychoneuroimmunology (PNI)…a fancy way to explain the connection between the brain, body, and our internal healing capacities. As well, I have logged over 6000 hours of training and experience (ever since my business was founded in 1995) in the fields of yoga therapy, yoga, Pilates, stress management, and psychotherapy.
As the owner of two wellness studios in Wisconsin, I developed and taught (along with a faculty of 25) 3 teacher training programs, in which people learn to become instructors of yoga and Pilates, as well as yoga therapists.
About the 200-hour Training:
This program and its information was developed out of 25 years of extensive education & training…and utilizes “whole brain learning”. You and the other participants will be actively involved with learning, rather than just sitting & listening to lectures. Hands-on experience from Day One prepares you for teaching as early as after the very first weekend! During one segment, you
might color in the path of the breath as you learn about the physiology of respiration…and then practice breathing techniques to feel what you just learned. In your Clinics, we will break down each individual asana, and discuss everything from safety issues to contraindications to benefits…and practice teaching, including hands-on adjustments.
Not only will you be comfortable teaching group classes at the end of the program, you’ll be able to work with many different populations (including those with chronic pain, seniors, children, prenatal, etc.), and particular attention is given to working privately and in small groups, as that is Debra’s forte.
As well, Debra has over 30 years of experiential knowledge…trial & error, observation of client & student behaviors, determining what works and what things are simply a waste of time. She has learned these things (sometimes the hard way!), so now is her time to give back & share them with those she feels connected to, who are eager to learn. Feel Your Best Teacher Training programs are loaded with all kinds of value, like proven teaching & personal strategies Debra designed that dramatically changed her own life for the better. We can’t wait to share them with you!
Our program has evolved from subjects such as psychology of emotions, neuroscience & creating new pathways for better results (you will retain what you learn, even if it’s brand-new to you!), yoga (of course!) to balance the mind & body, & personal development as you grow throughout the program (trust me, it’s a HUGE transformation!). Stress management/time management techniques are also taught, so you succeed in the program (not to mention we can help you finally get your $%#* together when you’re at home!) Lol
Class will meet once per month for 4 days at a time for 4 months. Each day will be 10 hours of class time. Each 4-day class meeting will equal 40 hours of class time for a total of 160 hours. The remaining 40 hours of the program will be done through home study.
