June 14, 2023 Wednesday 1 pm – 5 pm MST Instructor: Dawn Lewis Description: This 4-hour live webinar will teach you how to assess the bones and muscles in the head. We will explore sutures between cranial and facial bones and assess how mild shifts in the cranial bones effect muscle tension, vision, the bite (how your upper and lower jaw interact), and focus. Next we will assess the membrane system in the ears, nose, and throat. This will lead us into an exploration of the how the pharynx relates to the larynx and what that means to chewing, swallowing, and speaking. What this class will NOT do is instruct you in specific ways to fix issues in the head. This class will focus on assessment of the head and specifically how the movement patterns in the cranial bones effect neck and jaw mobility. While the instructor will discuss which muscles and connective tissues need to be addressed with each pattern, instruction will not be given in specific techniques to work with each pattern. Instruction of course: This course will be taught through a live webinar. The structure of the course is as follows:
