Yin yoga for the cranial sacral system: First, a brief description about yin yoga. Yin yoga, unlike
traditional or yang yoga, is about relaxing into a pose and staying in that pose for a longer period of
time. So, in yang yoga we get into a pose and we work that pose, lifting the quads to lift the patella,
or reaching through the fingertips, bringing the upper arm muscles into the humerus to lengthen
and strengthen the arms. In yin yoga, you get into a pose, relax, letting go of the muscles and
allowing the connective tissue to open. By staying in a pose for a longer period of time, say 3 to 5
minutes, the body will have time to pass the muscle action and allow the connective tissue to open
    and lengthen. (Continued)
